Where to stay in Dubai

Where are the best places to stay in Dubai?

Dubai has become in recent years one of the fashionable tourist destinations and is associated with a exclusive tourist destination with luxury and expensive hotels. But the truth is that Dubai has a wide range of hotels, with hotels of all categories, and they are not as expensive as it seems.

Perhaps this image of exclusive and expensive destination has been led by the Dubai Burj Al Arab hotel that bills itself as the only 7 star hotel in the world, and that certainly has a prohibitive price. But beyond the Burj Al Arab, the price of Dubai's luxury hotels are not more expensive than the big cities like Paris or London.

The two main areas where we can stay in Dubai are the area near Jumeirah Beach, the most famous beach in Dubai, and the Dubai old town area. Jumeirah area, where the islands and the palm known as Palm Jumeirah are located, is the area of the large and luxurious five-star hotels that offers all amenities and luxuries with access to private beaches. In the area of downtown Dubai you can find a good supply of 4 star hotels, with easy access to the Dubai Mall, the largest mall in the world, and other attractions such as Dubai zoo and Dubai aquarium.

Some opinions about the best located hotels in Dubai

Dar Al Masyaf, Madinat Jumeirah: "Absolutely love this place as it’s pure luxury and the location is just fab but obviously it does come at a price. Dubai is a cool place with lots to do, 4 nights wasn’t enough at this amazing hotel but gave us a taste of the high life. Would definitely recommend."

Burj Al Arab: "It simply does not get nay better than this! From priority disembarking off of our Emirates flight, flying through passport control into our Rolls Royce Phantom. Offered ice cold face towels and a menu to chose our music from on our way to the hotel! We had one of their special butler drawn rose baths, with relaxing music, rose petals in the water and 2 glasses of champagne. Each floor has its own concierge service, and they helped organising our shopping trips. Being in Burj official cars when out, drivers are pretty much allowed to park anywhere and go the wrong way up one way roads. Phone your driver when you are finished shopping and he will meet you at one of the shop entrances."

Grosvenor House, Dubai: "From the time you are overwhelmed by the oppulence of the hotel's lobby, to the calming serrenity of the hotel's spa, you will never forget your stay at this leading hotel in Dubai. The hotel is a close walk to the Dubai metro when we weren't using taxis. There is no question as to where we will stay when we return to Dubai."

Mina A Salam, Madinat Jumeirah: "Fantastic hotel, a symbol of luxury and quality services. A benchmark of customer services. Very happy that this is my 40th hotel review, by far, the best hotel and experience amongst any! The beaches are beautiful, white sand, full service, views of the open blue sky. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff are friendly and wonderful. You are treated as a king and a valued guest. Nothing is a trouble."

Raffles Dubai: "Raffles hotel is not only a fantastic hotel it is in a great location. Linked directly to Wafi Shopping Mall it makes an ideal situation for breakfast, lunch and dinner just in case you fancied something different from the hotels excellent choice of dining experiences. I have been travelling to Dubai on holiday for over 10 years always staying at either the Jumeriah Beach Hotel, al Qasar or Dar al Maysaf so staying closer to the city was a complete change but the service and quality of the hotel surpassed all my expectations I am booming again for early next year - fabulous!"

Al Manzil Hotel: "Good location, good facilities, helpful staff. Rooms are well appointed with good a/c.  There's a nice outdoor pool. Breakfast was very good with lots of options and good service. Sports bar was a nice hangout. Plentiful taxis. A fine option for staying in Dubai."

Pullman Mall Of The Emirates: "Nice hotel for a business trip, and great location for shopping. Rooms good size. Hotel restaurants adequate. Lovely roof top pool. Would not hesitate to stop again, hotel staff friendly and helpful for a lady travelling alone. Great location, reasonable prices and great customer care. Whats not to like !!!"

Rose Rayhaan by Rotana - Dubai: "First time in Dubai so picked this hotel based on location and previous reviews. The Rose Rayhaan Rotana is located within the cities financial district just off Sheikh Zayed Road, pretty much the middle of Dubai, with easy access to the metro station (5 minutes walk) and there always seemed to be plenty of taxis around. The hotel also has its own taxi service which comes in handy especially for transfers to the airport early in the morning."

Qamardeen Hotel: "The hotel is very conveniently located in the middle of the City and across from the Dubai Mall--just a 5-10 minute walk, Burj Khalifa (the tall tower of Mission Impossible fame) and very close to the Dubai fountains that are choreographed with music for shows every 30 minutes. I would definitely recommend this hotel as a base to explore Dubai as it is in such a fantastic location."

Premier Inn Dubai International Airport: "If you are looking for a hotel close to the airport, to spend one nit between two flights, this is a very good option. Every 30 minuts there is a shuttle from/to the airport, 10-15 minutes drive. Very pleasant and helpful staff and a nice place to stay, the shuttle bus saved on taxi fares and hassles."
